Certified Family Peer Support Partnership with Natura Behavioral Health
Whether you're walking your own path- or supporting someone on theirs- you carry your story too. We walk beside it. You are the expert in your grief.
What is Peer Support?
Peer Support is a compassionate, strengths-based service offered by trained individuals with lived experience in mental health, substance abuse, or behavioral health journeys.
Our Peer Supporters:
-
Are trained and certified per Ohio Revised Code and Ohio Department of Behavioral Health standards
-
Draw from direct lived experience- either caring for someone or living through a behavioral health journey themself
-
Our Approach
In partnership with Natura Behavioral Health, our Family Peer Supporter offers:
-
Empathetic presence from someone who truly understands
-
Practical tools for navigating systems, building resilience, and sustaining self-care
-
Judgement-free reflection, affirming all identities and journey
We don't offer advice. We share what helped us -
walk beside you as you find your way.
Who Can Benefit
Support is available to:
-
Care partners (families, guardians, friends) of people with mental health, behavioral, or substance abuse challenges
-
Individuals personally navigating mental health, substance use, or behavioral health services.
-
This is a Medicaid billable service. A self-pay option is available for individuals with other insurance providers.
How Support Works
-
1:1 Peer Companion Sessions
-
Private, peer-led conversations- online, or in person.
-
Billed through Medicaid when eligible.
-
FPS must be written into your ISP or treatment plan
-
-
Support Circles/Workshops
-
Group-based spaces, gently facilitated and confidential, for sharing, connection and mutual support
-
-
Maker:Grief individual and group sessions
-
Not everyone can express themselves sitting still in a group. Maker:Grief sessions help us explore different communication styles and express our emotions through creativity and design thinking with a focus on recognizing that failure is the beginning of the learning process.
-
Why It Matters
Peer Support is evidence-based and defined under Ohio law (OAC 5122-29-15), emphasizing,
"Activities that promote resiliency, recovery, self-determination, advocacy, well-being and skill development."
Get Started

Select the appropriate tab below to refer someone for services or to sign up for yourself.
-
Talk with one of our Family Peer Supporters and review program expectations and eligibility.
-
Complete an assessment with a licensed clinician at Natura (our Family Peer Supporter will assist with scheduling and completing paperwork as needed.) This assists in creating proper treatment plan component of the program to comply with state requirements. You cannot be receiving stabilization services (MRSS) or care through a different agency at the same time that you receive FPS services. You can receive counseling through Natura as a new patient if you are interested, but it is not a requirement to receive the Family Peer Support service.
-
Our FPS will assist you in completing online forms and scheduling your assessment with Natura. You will then sign our Release of Information form and schedule your first appointment!
